Brit-Indian carjack hubby planned to share 5 million pound love nest with murdered wife
London, Dec 5: Brit-Indian business tycoon Shrien Dewani, whose wife was murdered on honeymoon in South Africa, had planned to share a five million pound home with his bride.
According to the Daily Express, Shrien wanted to live in a three-storey property in London's St John's Wood with his wife Anni after returning from their ill-fated trip to Cape Town.
The four-bedroomed property is currently listed as jointly owned by Shrien and his brother Preyen.
One resident said: "They would have been very happy. It's a beautiful part of London, but you need money to live around here."
Shrien and Anni were two weeks into their Cape Town honeymoon when the taxi they were in was hijacked in Khayelitsha township by two men armed with guns on November 13.
They ordered the driver of the taxi to get out and then took off with the car and the couple.
Shrien was later released, but the gunmen took off with Anni, who was later found inside the car shot dead.
Three men have since been detained in connection with Anni's murder.
Taxi driver Zola Tongo, 25-year-old suspect Mziwamadoda Qwabe, and another 23-year-old man Xolile Mngeni are due to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Monday.
